Champ

Melbourne architectural and product designer Lauren Steller is Champ Design, a studio producing playful jewellery and homewares with a sustainable angle. Exclusive to the NGV design store, Recycling Moderne is a collection of earrings made from a homebrew of new and recycled tyre rubber. 

Inspired by the exhibition MoMA at NGV: 130 Years of Modern and Contemporary Art, Steller’s use of formal design elements and principles is reminiscent of the visual language of early twentieth-century Avant-garde art movements including DeStijl and Bauhaus. 

Handmade in Melbourne from aeroplane tyres, recycled rubber offcuts and silver fixings.
