Cai Guo-Qiang: The Transient Landscape

The work of contemporary artist Cai Guo-Qiang explores destruction and – as he sees it – its birthing of construction. This volume examines Cai’s practice through essays by Lesley Ma, Curator of Ink Art at M+ museum, Hong Kong; Yuko Hasegawa, Artistic Director at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo; and the artist himself.

The publication also features detailed imagery of works Cai has created specially for the National Gallery of Victoria, from process to finished artwork, and statements from the artist about each piece.
