Inspired by serene valley landscapes and the practice of pausing for reflection, this vessel is made from a speckled clay and finished in Clae Studio’s signature white drippy matte glaze.
Clae Studio is a project of artist Britt Neech who creates from her Mornington Peninsula home studio since 2016. Using coiling and slab building techniques, Neech makes streamlined, subdued pieces that enhance the intrinsic beauty of humble curves and contours. With a focus on unique yet timeless design, pieces are made by hand in small batches resulting in beautiful variances, showcasing the process as well as the beauty of the ceramic medium.
Due to the inherent nature of handmade ceramics, variance in size, shape and finish is to be expected and embraced. The clay this piece is made from is porous and may become damp when holding water. It is suggested that this piece be used for holding dried flora or simply as a sculptural object.
