The work of contemporary jeweller Jennifer Laracy is informed by the rural and coastal environment of her home studio in Taranaki on New Zealand’s North Island.
Collecting found objects such as shells, stones and discarded plastic she combines locally sourced materials with precious metals to create unlikely combinations. Evident in Laracy’s Flotsam and Jetsam earrings is her command of texture and colour and ability to turn modest materials into cherished jewellery.
