Italian Maiolica in the Collection of the National Gallery of Victoria showcases the NGV’s internationally significant collection of Italian Renaissance maiolica. An erudite and accessible prose illustrating the development of Italian tin-glazed earthenware from antiquity to the present.

Timothy Wilson is Professor of the Arts of the Renaissance at Oxford University, and Barrie and Deedee Wigmore Research Keeper in the Department of Western Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. He is a specialist in the decorative arts of the European Renaissance and has published extensively on Italian maiolica collections in Britain, Italy and America. He is a Professorial Fellow of Balliol College, Oxford, a fellow of the Accademia Raffaello, Urbino, and of the Accademia di Belle Arti Pietro Vannucci, Perugia.

Amanda Dunsmore is Senior Curator, International Decorative Arts and Antiquities, at the National Gallery of Victoria. Marika Strohschnieder is Senior Conservator, Objects Conservation, at the National Gallery of Victoria.
