Introducing NGV Magazine. Issue 1 Nov/Dec 2016
NGV Magazine Nov/Dec is the first issue of the new-look magazine by the National Gallery of Victoria.
The inaugural issue features writer Kitty Hauser on David Hockney in anticipation of his major solo exhibition David Hockney: Current at NGV; and introduce a new series, Women in Design, with Mary Featherston and Blanche Tilden on a collaboration that transcends time.
Also in NGV Magazine, explore Italian design as we recognise it today with Paola Di Trocchio’s feature on design in post-war Italy; and Martin Cooke on the cinema moments made iconic by Bulgari, in this double feature celebrating Italian Jewells Bulgari Style. As well as interviews with Japanese contemporary video artist Miyanaga Akira, artist Tanya Schultz of Pip & Pop, Viktor & Rolf’s Viktor Horsting, MECCA Cosmetica CEO Jo Horgan and Melbourne restaurateur Andrew McConnell; community life behind Indigenous art; and a rare look inside the 19th century studio of one of Australia’s favourite sculptors.
With new writing, interviews, photography and features, NGV Magazine is about the people and stories behind great art and design. NGV Magazine celebrates creativity of all kinds through dynamic, modern design, editorial commissioned from around the world and a focus on unique and engaging content.
