NGV Magazine - March/April 2022 issue 33
Description
In the March - April 2022 edition of NGV Magazine, we introduce the landmark new NGV online program Observations: Women in Art and Design History 1500–1970 with a range of essays that share new insights and research into some of the most important artists in history. NGV curator Danielle Whitfield interviews Paris-based curator and cultural programmer and expert Raina-Lampkins-Fielder about a powerful, symbolic and dynamic forthcoming acquisition, Housetop variation by Martha Pettway, which addresses and dispels historical hierarchies within the canon of art history. We also take a close look at the new NGV exhibition, QUEER: Stories from the NGV Collection, which reconsiders artworks in the NGV Collection through a queer lens.
March also celebrates the annual Melbourne Design Week and Melbourne Art Book Fair, along with the newest initiative in 2022, Melbourne Design Fair.
